5 Ways to skip the gym

Going to the gym can get a little old, especially if you find yourself doing the same routines week to week. Then you're left with the feeling of wanting to workout but not wanting to go to the gym. Well, don't go to the gym.

    Workout from home. I have a few home training videos (Insanity, and a few others) and a few training games for the Xbox. When I don't use, I use the Nike Training App (Available for iPhone and Android). Each option gives me structured workouts without having to leave my home!

    Go to the park. A lot of bigger parks have either a track or a workout circuit. For a full body workout, stop at the stations while you walk or run around and do the exercise. Go around as many times as you would like. Just do not forget to stretch!

    Play a sport. Grab a few friends and play basketball, soccer, volleyball, or even throw around a football for an hour - hour and a half. This way you are getting your cardio in and socializing!

    Go hiking. Head over to a nearby trail and walk or jog (and if you're really adventurous run) a couple of mile. Make sure to grab plenty of water. While you're on the trail be sure to pace yourself in order to make it back.

    Take a class. Take some time off from the gym and learn something new. Take a karate, Zumba, pilates, crossfit, or one of the many other types of classes out there. This will surely reignite your passion to reach your fitness goal.
