Let's talk about blenders, and juicers (mostly blenders). For many people who commit to living a healthy lifestyle, their blender is one of their most used appliances. It is important to choose a product carefully.
What is a blender?
A blender, well, blends. It does provide the body with the total amount of nutrients a food provide. The consistency, is that of a smoothie or milkshake. Most blenders are not powerful enough to blend the pits and skins of fruits or vegetables. Blending keeps most of the pulp and insoluble fibers, which is why smoothies keep you full for so long.
What is a juicer?
A juicer is a mess making machine. It takes out the pulp, insoluble fibers, skin, etc. out of the fruit or vegetable. It creates a juice. Juicing provides more nutrients to the body than blending, however it will not keep you full for very long.
Which do I use?
I use the Nutri Ninja 2-in-1 and the Nutri Ninja Auto IQ. The machine mixes juicing with blending. Although some pulp and insoluble fibers remain to create the smoothie consistency, the design of the blades extract more nutrients than the average blender. It is also faster than the average blender. It takes about a minute to blend ingredients to the perfectly blended smoothie. It's great blending ice and frozen fruits! We've had and used our Ninjas daily for a few months and not only are the motors holding up well, but the BPA-free cups are too! Similar to the Ninja there is the NutriBullet, Vitamix, Magic Bullet, and others.
Oh, and it doesn't use much counter space.
